Event: EU Funding Consultation
Date: Friday July 12 2013
Venue: Innovation Birmingham, Birmingham Science Park Aston, Birmingham B7 4BB
You may be aware that the UK Government recently allocated the Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP approximately £220 million European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund allocations for the period 2014-2020.
The LEP has recently appointed a consortium led by Birmingham City University to help write the strategy that will steer this spending. As part of this process there is an initial consultation event to discuss priorities.
This consultation event is seeking to discuss where EU funding should be focused. It will be driven by the GBSLEP’s new Strategy for Growth but will also need to respond to UK and EU guidance.
The discussion will focus on four key areas – ICT/Digital, Low Carbon, Innovation and SME Business Support – and will largely revolve around actions financed by ERDF.
There will however be some discussion about skills (ESF) as they relate to the four priority areas. There will, in addition, be a separate consultation event for ESF on a date to be confirmed.
Attendance is encouraged from organisations that represent, business sectors, community organisations, HE/FE sector and the specific areas of focus as well as local authorities in the GBSLEP area.
