Ken Meeson

Cllr Meeson has lived in Solihull for forty years. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and was UK Commercial Manager for a Lloyds Insurance Group until 1998. He was Clerk to the Corporation and Company Secretary for Matthew Boulton College (now Birmingham Metropolitan College).

He is a non-executive director of Solihull Primary Care Trust and Hospital Manager for Mental Health Act at Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of the West Midlands Joint Committee and the Children and Young People Board of the Local Government Association.

Cllr Meeson is a director or trustee of The NEC Group, National Youth Agency, National Children’s Bureau, BXL Services Limited, Sir Josiah Mason Trust Charities Group and the Solihull County Scout Association. He has served as a Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Young People and has a particular interest in youth unemployment.
