Greater Birmingham Film Review & Strategy

In autumn 2014, the Creative City Partnership, Birmingham City Council, Birmingham City University and the British Film Institute jointly commissioned an independent report from the creative industries specialists, Burns Owens Partnership, on the opportunities for film in the Greater Birmingham region. The executive summary and key recommendations can be downloaded here.

The report was overseen by a Film Strategy Board which included all of the key national film agencies as well as a number of local stakeholders. It was chaired by the former BFI Executive, Eddie Berg.

Over the summer, the Creative City Partnership will be reviewing the recommendations with our partners.  We will be launching our plan for film – as part of the wider creative economy in the region  – in the autumn.
