National Apprenticeship Event: Wednesday 8th March 2017
Thousands of apprenticeship opportunities will be showcased by more than 100 of the UKs Top Employers and Training Providers at the first ever National Apprenticeship Event to be held on the Wednesday 8th March at The ICC Birmingham in the Midlands, an iconic venue in the UKs most connected city. A perfect venue for this inspirational event.
The National Apprenticeship Event will bring together thousands of young people and employers, giving them the opportunity to talk face-to-face about apprenticeships and careers available to them.
If you haven’t decided which career path to take, today’s apprenticeships offer young people a positive alternative to college or university education.
Apprenticeships will develop an individual’s skills from an early age and provide a very clear and structured educational route into employment and management across all industries and business sectors.
We would like to thank all our supporters and sponsors: Birmingham City Council, Acivico, Service Birmingham, The NHS, BMW Group, Carillion PLC, Sandwell College, HS2, ACCA as well as all other exhibitors.
Cllr Brett O’Reilly, cabinet member for jobs and skills, said: “The city council is proud to be able to support this event. Birmingham has a fantastically diverse population and one of our best attributes is that nearly 50% of our population are under the age of 30. This gives us a great opportunity to influence the future workforce of our region and so apprenticeships are an important part of our talent strategy and Step Forward campaign, aimed at improving skills across the city. We are keen to pass on the learning and skills we have in our current workforce, whilst harnessing the ideas, skills and attributes of our young people to making a difference for this city. These are exciting times and there is great hope for our young people to prosper and grow in business, industry and technology organisations. This event will showcase the offer Birmingham can make to an important national agenda.”
The National Apprenticeship Event is all about interaction between exhibitors and visitors with employers offering ‘have a go’ sessions. The range of interactively where you can try out numerous tasks across a wide range of Industries including Construction, Automotive, Engineering, Accountancy and Finance and just about anything else you can imagine.
