West Midland Safari Park: Safari Academy

The West Midland Safari Park is set to open a new Safari Academy, a purpose-built internal and external education centre, supported by £65,850 of funding support from the GBSLEP.

Ruskin Mill Trust: Transforming New Standard Works and creating the Hive Bakery – a social enterprise for disadvantaged young people

Ruskin Mill Trust has opened an artisan educational cafe and social enterprise – Hive Bakery. The project is designed to provide training and jobs for young people in the Greater Birmingham community with special needs, as well as attracting visitors to the Jewellery Quarter’s ‘Industrial Middle’. The initiative was supported by a mixture of grant and loan funding from the GBSLEP, totalling £250,000.

Virtual Reality and Robotics Development Centre

Solihull College and University Centre has opened a new Virtual Reality (VR) and Robotics Development Centre, supported by £143,500 of Local Growth Funding from the GBSLEP. Designed to bring together computing and engineering students, the revolutionary purpose-built facility will help learners to develop vital skills needed to work within the VR and robotics industries.
