Overall value: £10m

Local Growth Fund: £2m

Lead partner: Birmingham City Council

Outputs: 1,500 jobs

This project will see the delivery of an Advanced Manufacturing Hub on a 20 hectare regional investment site next to Junction 6 of the M6.

The overall aim of the project is to deliver a 20ha RIS (now designated as the City’s Advanced Manufacturing Hub AMH) next to J6 of the M6. Phase 1 comprises of 10.5ha, 8.5ha which is already in public (Homes and Communities Agency) ownership, marketing of which is beginning to attract significant interest. It is envisaged that development of Phase 1 will act as a catalyst for bringing forward the next phases of development. To this end the HCA and BCC are working in close partnership to assemble and consolidate sites for further development.
Birmingham City Council has already been successful in securing funds from Growing Places to undertake acquisitions of private interests required to consolidate land, undertake remediation, and bring sites to the market to help unlock the full potential of the AMH.

Funding is available in 2015/16 and 2016/17.
