Birmingham Metropolitan College plans an ambitious expansion of its city centre campus to create an iconic centre of excellence that enables the GBSLEP’s vision for economic growth by creating an interdisciplinary centre of advanced technologies and skills development, in conjunction with key private and public sector employers.
The new campus is at the Gateway to High Speed 2 developments and the City’s Enterprise Zone. It will further develop the city’s ambitious plans for a Learning Zone at the heart of the city – connected to key transport routes and serving thousands of learners and employers with state of the art facilities in key growth areas. These include advanced manufacturing and engineering; life sciences; medical technologies and medical engineering; rail engineering and digital control and communications technologies; visitor and the retail economy; creative, cultural and digital industries; and allied professional and business services.
Funding will be available for 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18.
