Norman CaveNorman Cave’s career in education spans some 30 years. He became Principal of Bournville College in 2002. Bournville College is a large general further education college based in the South-West of Birmingham.

Norman’s representative interests include: Member of West Midlands Business Forum;Board Director of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership; FE College representative on the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP Employment and Skills Board; Member of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP Enterprise Board; Member of the Longbridge Area Action Group.

Norman has previously served as a governor on the University Hospital Birmingham Board of Governors and also on Fircroft College’s Board of Governors. In addition, Norman has sat on a number of Learning and Skills Council review groups.

Norman is a member of the National Board of the Association of Colleges and was until recently the Regional Chair of the West Midlands Association of Colleges. He is currently the Chair of the AoC International Portfolio Group.

His extensive contribution to the work of the Association includes sitting on a number of its committees including:

  • National Employment Advisory Committee
  • Director of AoC Create Group
  • Director of AoC UK India Partnership and Strategic Management Group

Norman has developed and led the college’s international strategy. He is currently the Chief Executive of Bournville’s Indian subsidiary, Bournville Training and Consultancy Private Limited. Norman has spoken at ICC and other conferences across India on vocational skills and the UK offer to India. Norman has also spoken at conferences in Korea. Norman was part of the F.E. contingent that accompanied the Prime Minister on his delegation to India in 2013. He was also part of the F.E. contingent that accompanied the Deputy Prime Minister on his recent delegation to India in August 2014.
