Regional Growth Fund Round 3
The third round of allocations from the Regional Growth Fund was made on October 13 2012 and saw a total of £1.055 billion awarded 130 bids, attracting £6 billion of private investment. The projects will create or safeguard 240,000 jobs.
A total of 17 allocations were made in the West Midlands worth a total of £124 million.
This included a £20 million allocation to a joint project led by the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership called Green Bridge.
The national project has been led by GBSLEP with the Stoke & Staffordshire, Marches, Black Country, Worcestershire and Coventry & Warwickshire LEPs.
Green Bridge will provide an investment package of grants, promoting the green economy across a variety of sectors right across the West Midlands.
Subject to due diligence, the programme will target the SME supply chain and provide support for them to exploit and utilise environmental technologies to grow their businesses.
