Medium sized businesses in the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership are being urged to help shape a programme of support aimed at helping them to develop and grow.
Medium sized businesses (MSBs) are classed as companies with a turnover of between £15 million and £50 million.
Although these companies represent just 0.2% of all businesses, they account for around 20% of private sector turnover and employment.
The Department for Business, Industry and Skills (BIS) has nominated the GBSLEP to deliver one of ten national ‘pathfinders’ projects, which will carry out research and help shape future policy around supporting this type of company.
Working with private sector businesses and the renowned Aston Business School the GBSLEP is developing a Leadership and Business Growth Programme to meet the specific needs of MSBs.
This will enable participants to access internationally leading research, high impact growth and change support, specialist business advice, a high calibre peer network and Business school expertise.
The GBSLEP is looking for help from companies to shape the programme to ensure it is providing the information and specialist support needed to identify growth opportunites and enable business to thrive and grow.
The focus is on creating a consortium of Medium Sized Businesses who will own and shape this growth programme as well as a small group of supporting organisations who can engage with the project.
