HE Logo_smallHighways England has launched its new Growth and Housing Fund.

£100m will be invested nationally over the life of this Parliament to mobilise housing and employment sites currently stalled due to a need to make improvements to the strategic roads network.

The fund is aimed at bridging the gap in key road projects that are ready to move, but not currently viable – and the fund is a supplement to existing private and public funding, with an aspiration for at least half of all costs to be covered by private sources.

Growth and Housing Fund schemes will need to enable the quick delivery of new jobs and homes, and are expected to require no more than £5M Highways England funding.

Highways England has invited the Local Enterprise Partnerships to coordinate proposals to the fund. If you would like to know more – or have a suggestion for a scheme – please contact Nick Glover: nick.glover@birmingham.gov.uk  tel: 07730 281 420
